10:00am
Stopped at a rest stop near Ashtabula, Ohio, for some "rest stopping" and a little flying disc.

2:30pm
Another rest stop about 30 miles north of Columbus, Ohio. The weather is great and everyone is in good spirits.

5:00pm
A little ahead of schedule - stopping for dinner soon, then heading to the destination.

6:30pm
Arrived at the mall in Louisville, Kentucky. Dinner at the food court, then the buses will be loading up at 7:45 for the rest of the drive.
In Bowling Green, the band will be on Central Time.

9:00pm
About an hour out of Bowling Green.  There was a half-hour delay while the buses fueled up, but the final stretch is here. Hopefully the hotline will be updated around 10pm (9pm Bowling Green time).

10:15pm Webster time/9:15pm Bowling Green time
Arrived at the hotel. The students will be getting settled into their rooms and lights out is scheduled for 11:00pm. Breakfast will be at 8:00am. After breakfast, the students will be heading to Lost River Cave.

Day 2: Friday, September 23rd; Rehearsal Day

8:45am Bowling Green time (9:45am Webster time)
Everyone has had breakfast and the students are headed off to Lost River Cave. Some of the followers are going to the National Corvette Museum and Assembly Plant and some are going to the mall.

1:00pm Bowling Green time (2:00pm Webster time)
Back to the hotel for lunch. The students really enjoyed Lost River Cave. After luch, the students have free time until they leave for the practice site at 3:30. The followers are probably going to Lost River Cave this afternoon.

6:15pm Bowling Green time (7:15pm Webster time)
The followers are back at the hotel after the Lost River Cave tour. The tour was great, and the tour guides were full of praise regarding how our kids conducted themselves this morning. The students are due back at the hotel at 8:00pm after practice. It is very warm here - the current temperature is in the high 80s. The forecast for tomorrow is calling for a high of 89 degrees.
Here a few photos at the hotel and Lost River Cave (click on the image to view a larger image):

10:20pm Bowling Green time (9:20pm Webster time)
The students returned from practice at 8:00pm and enjoyed a nice dinner of fried chicken and roast beef. After dinner, they had free time for about an hour to go to the pool or visit with friends. They are now settled into their rooms with lights out scheduled for 11:00pm. The Alan C. Pope High School Marching Band from Georgia is also staying in our hotel.

Day 3: Saturday, September 24th; Competition Day

11:00am Bowling Green time (12:00noon Webster time)
After a good, healthy breakfast, the students boarded the buses at about 9:45 to head over to the practice site. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits and looking forward to the competition. The plan is to practice until about 1:00pm. At that time, they will have a snack break and change into their uniforms prior to heading over to the competition site at Western Kentucky University at 2:00pm. Their performance is scheduled for 4:00pm (5:00 Webster time). Retreat is at 5:00. We will try to update the hotline and website as soon as possible following the performance and announcemnt of finalists. The weather here is warm and sunny with a predicted high of 89 degrees.
See below for a few photos from dinner last night and getting on the buses this morning (click on the image to view a larger image):

4:15pm Bowling Green time (5:15pm Webster time)
The performance in the Prelims is over - the band did great and all went well. Now we're waiting for Retreat.
More to follow at around 5:45pm Webster time.

5:15pm Bowling Green time (6:15pm Webster time)
The band did a great job, what with the long day and the heat, but the competition was very stiff and unfortunately Webster did not make the Finals.

5:45pm Bowling Green time (6:45pm Webster time)
The band is in good spirits but has decided to forego watching the finals and instead is packing up and heading back to the hotel - the pool will be
refreshing this evening!  We hope to post another update tonite on the hotline and the website.

7:30pm Bowling Green time (8:30pm Webster time)

The band has finished their box lunches - the pizza party will commence at 10pm (a little earlier than planned). And since the bus drivers can get some earlier shuteye, the band should be on its way earlier tomorrow morning. Contest Results: We did manage to come up with a couple of plates of pasta, and for the 3rd straight year, Mr. Landgren has won the pasta eating contest! There could yet be another update tonight....

9:15pm Bowling Green time (10:15pm Webster time)

The students are enjoying their free time here at the hotel. See below for photos of them taking the field at prelims as well as the pasta-eating contest and appreciative audience.

10:45pm Bowling Green time (11:45pm Webster time)

The pizza party is over and the students are getting settled into their rooms. The plan for morning is for a 6:15 wake-up call with breakfast at 7:30. We are going to try to leave shortly after 8:00.

Day 4: Sunday, September 25th; The Trip Home

7:45am Bowling Green time (8:45am Webster time)
We should be pulling out of Bowling Green around 8:15 (9:15 Webster time). Please check the hotline during the day for updates on our progress and anticipated arrival time. We will try to have some updates posted to this site as well.

3:00pm (back on  Webster time)
About 20 miles south of Columbus, Ohio: bus #3 has a flat tire. While waiting for service to make the repair,  the bus #3 riders will  hop on the other buses; the band will then head to a Columbus mall for some lunch and to wait for bus #3. It doesn't look like a significant delay for the trip.

4:30pm
At the Columbus mall  -  we'll be here until 5:30 at which time the repaired bus #3 should arrive, then it's back on the road.

6:30pm
Finally leaving the Columbus mall  -  bus #3's repair took longer than first anticipated. but we're back on the road now, "lunch" having been eaten.
For the balance of the trip, please check the hotline for our projected return time.

1:30am (9/26)
The tired group arrived back at Webster Schroeder.
