As of Monday, December 30th

• Everybody got to Phoenix safely.
• Webster had two great rehearsals (the best so far according to the director!).
• On Sunday (Dec 29th) afternoon, Webster placed in the top four for finals.
• In the Sunday evening finals, Webster drew the 5th slot.
• Webster placed 4th in the finals.
• Webster also tied for a 2nd place trophy for drum major.
• The main reason for the hectic time this trip is the flu (or some kind of bug). It has been spreading through the band members. Four members missed the preliminaries and five missed the finals because of illness.
• Due to this bug, the trip to the Grand Canyon was reluctantly cancelled.
• Instead, everybody slept in till 11:00am on Monday (Dec 30th), rested by the pool, and had a pizza party.
• Practice for the Tuesday parade was held for about an hour Monday afternoon and the director was impressed with the quality!
• Monday evening everyone went out to enjoy a meal at Rawhide.
• Now we're looking forward to the Tuesday 11am (mountain time) parade which will be seen by about 400,000 people.

Wednesday, January 1st; 11:45am

• Seven students missed the parade due to illness.
• The adults haven't been immune. Two chaperones, the head medic, and a few followers also experienced down time.
• The parade results are now available.
• Last night everyone had a great time at the dance.

Wednesday, January 1st; 1:45pm

• Everyone has arrived at the airport. Some flights have already left.
• Everything is on schedule.
• Confirmation that Webster did receive a Drum Major 2nd place trophy.
