Day 1: Friday, October 10th; The Trip to Morgantown

The trip began at 6am on Friday as the band members arrived at Webster High School for bus boarding. At 5:15pm, and 360 miles later, they arrived at their dinner destination in Morgantown. Family and friends greeted the band members as the buses rolled into the hotel parking lot at 7:05pm.

Day 2: Saturday, October 11th; The Competition

The Preliminaries

Today began with a 6am wake-up and snack, then a 7am practice in a thick fog. After a full breakfast, the band headed off to the warm-up area near Mountaineer Stadium. By then the fog had completely cleared to give us blue skies.

At 12:30pm, Webster was the first band to perform after lunch. The results were announced at 5pm. Webster swept their class! Webster took top in their class (AAA) and all of the "Highest Achievement" awards from their class (see below). Webster made the list of the top-10 bands which will perform in the final competition starting at 7:15pm.

The Finals

Webster drew the last performance slot, 10pm, for the finals. At 10:30, the final awards were presented. Webster placed 2nd and tied for "Outstanding Visual" achievement award! Afterwards, the band broke ranks to meet and congratulate the other bands. Now is the pizza party!!

Day 3: Sunday, October 12th; The Trip Home

Today's wake-up was at 7am. The buses departed the hotel at 9:45am for an uneventful trip home (that's good!). At 7:09pm, the buses pulled into the Webster High School parking lot passing between rows of facing cars with headlights flashing. Several news media groups were there to capture the moment. Many band members were handed flowers or balloons by family and friends welcoming them home and congratulating them on their great performances.
